Clarks Originals just dropped an all-new “Sashiko” Collection that will help you elevate your dress sneaker game. Inspired by the ancient Japanese craft of Sashiko, this unique collection brings stitch detailing to the brand’s iconic Originals silhouettes. First used to mend and maintain clothing in 17th century Japan, Sashiko has evolved, going in time from practical to pretty. Once the sole preserve of peasants, today its thrifty roots and folk-art creativity bring a twist of tradition to modern makes.
Sashiko – which translates to ‘little stabs’ in reference to the simple running stitches used – was typically embroidered on fabric dyed an inky indigo. It’s a design heritage they’ve honoured with premium blue suede styles. Combined with off-white stitching, the Desert Boot, Wallabee Boot and Desert Trek also tap into vintage Americana styling. All styles are available now in men’s, women’s and kids sizing in prices ranging from $75-$200. Check out more details HERE.
Releasing this weekend, will you be going after the Air Jordan 4 Black Canvas?
