Below you will get an official look at the SOUTH2 WEST8 x Reebok Zig Kinetica 2.5 Edge.
This latest collaboration between Reebok and Japanese clothing brand SOUTH2 WEST8 marks the second time both brands have teamed up for a footwear collaboration. Focusing on the Reebok Zig Kinetica 2.5 Edge this time around, this iteration of the model opts for a unique fly-fishing and military-inspired aestheti on the technical sport-style shoe.
Founded in 2003 by Kaname Nagaoka, SOUTH2 WEST8 develops fashionable clothing and gear for use in “Tenkara” fly fishing, often drawing on military-style aesthetics and materials. Details on the sneaker include a textile camouflage upper paired up with lush suede, leather overlays, and a spiky rubber toe cap complemented by a black heel loop and matching black laces. Furthermore, the sneaker dons a speckled black and grey midsole that encapsulates Floatride Fuel cushioning above an anti-slip 30% pre-consumer recycled Vibram Ecostep lugged outsole.
“The goal of this collaboration is to incorporate SOUTH2 WEST8 aesthetics and a simple sense of beauty into iconic sneakers developed by Reebok,” commented SOUTH2 WEST8’s brand director. “Like our first collaboration, we were inspired by outdoor settings colliding with urban environments and the idea of linking the two in harmony.
The SOUTH2 WEST8 x Reebok Zig Kinetica 2.5 Edge retails for $200. They are available now from SOUTH2 WEST8 and in Japan and will see a wider global release on December 30 from Reebok.com and select retailers.
