Big news coming out of New Balance today as they’ve just unveiled Kawhi Leonard’s newest signature sneaker, the New Balance Kawhi 3.
Aiming to be a one-of-a-kind shoe, the New Balance Kawhi 3 is set to be the first basketball shoe to have Energy Arc technology. This game changing technology was developed by the New Balance design team with the brand’s state-of-the-art Sports Research Lab and has been seen across the award winning FuelCell Super Comp Trainer and Coco Gauff’s signature, the CocoCG1.
The sole of the New Balance Kawhi 3 comes equipped with a full-length FuelCell cushioning system with Energy Arc that offers a propulsive energy return feeling, designed to react to the game’s split-second changes. Additionally, the base of the shoe contains a carbon fiber arc plate to enhance the explosiveness of the first step. When it comes to the upper, its design features a lightweight knit construction as well as a seamless half-bootie that connects directly to the tongue. The seamless method is also utilized at the heel with a molded component that offers a more natural, responsive sense of support than standard stitching.
The KAWHI III in the Alpha Predator colorway will be available at www.NewBalance.com with the suggested retail price of $160. Additional colorways will be launching throughout the season that tap into the mind of Kawhi such as Recharged Chakra, Lunar New Year, Sacred Geometry and even some that pull from New Balance’s partners and iconic colors.
“This season, together with the New Balance design team we decided to tell stories that tap into how I think and attack on the court. So every colorway of the KAWHI III taps into that thinking.” said New Balance Athlete Kawhi Leonard. “The KAWHI III brings new technology that allows me to take my game to the next level, and that’s super important to me and I am excited for other players to be able to experience it.”
Although the New Balance Kawhi 3 will not officially launch online until February 10, Kawhi will debut the shoe tonight when the Clippers take on the Milwaukee Bucks.
